Project Controlling Expert

In this role, you are part of the Group Strategic Finance & Controlling organization and contribute to the transparent, resilient, and standardized financial management of the group-wide IT project portfolio. The function sets standards for, supports, and monitors group-wide, transformative IT projects along the entire project lifecycle. You support the further development of controlling standards, processes, systems, and data structures and conduct central portfolio controlling activities. In doing so, you work closely with program and project controllers, finance functions, and the Project Transformation Office, making a significant contribution to uniform financial management of complex transformation and IT projects.

Support the budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management process for the group-wide project portfolio, including consolidation and quality assurance of financial data. Conduct plan-actual comparisons, forecast-at-completion analyses, and identify, assess, and track financial deviations and risks. Analyze and plausibilize business cases and investment requests regarding assumptions, cost structures, and economic viability. Track benefit realization and value contribution of projects and programs, and support post-go-live reviews with responsible business units. Collaborate with project, program, and segment controllers on project controlling issues and support the application of uniform methods and standards. Contribute to the further development of the project controlling framework, including relevant guidelines and governance requirements. Support the further development of cost structures, KPI definitions, reporting requirements, and control processes in the project environment. Continuously develop controlling approaches and ensure high data quality and seamless integration of SAP, ServiceNow SPM, Jira, CATS, and other relevant platforms. Create management reports and decision papers for management committees, investment council, and other stakeholders. Analyze financial risks, assess forecasts and compliance deviations, and develop appropriate action recommendations.

Successfully completed degree in business administration, finance, economics, business informatics, industrial engineering, or a comparable field. At least 3 years of professional experience in controlling with a focus on project, program, or IT controlling. Solid experience in budget planning, forecasting, monthly closings, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting in complex organizations. Experience in developing, evaluating, and critically reviewing business cases as well as tracking benefit realization. Very good knowledge of SAP CO and/or SAP PS, experience with ServiceNow SPM, Jira, CATS, or comparable project and portfolio management systems. Strong understanding of financial control processes, cost structures, reporting requirements, and controlling and governance standards, ideally including IFRS knowledge. High analytical competence, pronounced independence, and the ability to present financial relationships clearly and derive actionable recommendations. Business-fluent German and English skills and experience working with international stakeholders.
