Apprenticeship Chemical Laboratory Technician

DSM Grenzach is the competence centre within the global group for the production of water-soluble vitamins B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin) and B6 (Pyridoxine), as well as fat-soluble vitamin D3. In addition, ASCP (fat-soluble form of vitamin C), PUFA and intermediates for carotenoids are produced in Grenzach. The site employs around 700 people. Chemical laboratory technicians ensure that scientists' ideas become reality. They prepare experiments, analyse, synthesise, measure and control product quality. As a chemical laboratory technician you work closely with the company's chemists: in quality assurance or research. With increasing professional experience you will carry out many tasks independently and responsibly.

Chemical laboratory technicians work together with chemists in research, analytics, environmental protection and application technology or in production control. They work safely and environmentally responsibly with chemicals, equipment and materials. They participate in the development and optimisation of new products and manufacturing processes on a laboratory and pilot plant scale. They examine raw materials and products using chemical and modern instrumental analysis methods. They evaluate the results and prepare reports.
