About this Apprenticeship
As a chemical plant operator at Sika, you control and monitor production plants and make sure raw materials become high-quality products. The perfect mix of chemistry and technology.
What You'll Learn
- Operating, monitoring and maintaining production plants
- Producing and filling our construction chemical products
- Taking samples and carrying out simple analyses
- Documenting production processes and results
- Applying safety, health and environmental protection rules
Requirements
- At least a good lower secondary school certificate (Berufsreife) or intermediate school certificate
- Enthusiasm for the combination of chemistry and technology
- Responsible and careful way of working
- Manual skill and enjoyment of practical work
- Willingness to work shifts (after the apprenticeship)

- Early completion possible: with strong performance you can bring forward the exam or shorten the training
- Top pay under the chemical industry collective agreement: €1,217 in year 1 up to €1,405 in year 4
- Annual bonus 100%, holiday pay €700
- Working time: 38.5 hours per week, 30 days of vacation
- Digital equipment: iPad or notebook (depending on profession)
- Exam preparation: two days of paid leave
- Mobility and international: travel cost reimbursement, EU exchange programs
- Personal support: fixed contact person, regular feedback
- Chances of being hired: good chances if you are committed
- Perspective after training: pay group E6 – €3,713 (per chemical collective agreement, as of May 2026)
