At the Gersthofen industrial park, 10 kilometers north of Augsburg, MVV Industriepark Gersthofen GmbH supplies its customers with infrastructure, supply and disposal services. The company has about 330 employees, including around 100 apprentices, and trains in nine occupations. Industrial mechanics make pipe system elements from metals and plastics. Maintenance, repairs and replacing plant components are further tasks.

• Setting up, repairing and maintaining machines and equipment
• Fixing faults in operating equipment
• Manufacturing individual parts from scratch
• Basic training and introduction to working metal and plastics
• Machining techniques: filing, chiseling, sawing, drilling, turning, milling
• Assembly and maintenance technology
• Practical work in the central workshops
• Specialist courses on welding methods, repair of pumps and fittings
• Basics of control technology (pneumatics, electro-pneumatics)
