Early Childhood Educator Training (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Full-time or part-time training to become an early childhood educator, combining classroom learning with practical placements. The program teaches educational, psychological, and practical knowledge for supporting, developing, and caring for children and young people. Learning areas include communication, language, aesthetics, science, educational relationships, inclusion, educational work, partnerships with parents, and team and quality development. Graduates receive the qualification of state-certified educator and Bachelor Professional in Social Services.

Planning and delivering educational activities, providing individual support to children and young people, supporting learning and development processes, actively shaping daily life in childcare centers, after-school programs, youth and recreation facilities, and working with parents, colleagues, and other professionals.

Ideally, applicants should have empathy, patience, communication and teamwork skills, a sense of responsibility, and resilience. Admission is possible with an intermediate school leaving certificate and vocational preparation, a university of applied sciences entrance qualification specializing in social education, the same qualification in another field plus an eight-week social-sector internship, or Abitur plus an eight-week social-sector internship. Part-time training additionally requires employment at a recognized socio-educational institution for at least 19.5 hours per week and the employer's consent. Applications are accepted only from candidates with good German skills at B1/B2 level.

The training has no school tuition fees. Individual learning support is available through a tutoring service, along with extracurricular events such as themed celebrations, educational trips, and class trips.
