Project Engineer Route Planning and Special Civil Engineering

• Development, planning and project design of routes for cable and pipeline projects of various media and dimensions
• Planning of open and closed construction methods for various media and dimensions
• Planning and optimization of crossing points, crossing areas and special crossings (roads, waterways, railway lines, third-party pipelines and other obstacles)
• Planning and project design of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) including bore path optimization taking into account ground conditions and obstacles
• Planning and design of various pipe jacking methods (e.g. pipe jacking, micro-tunneling)
• Planning of excavations including shoring and safety measures
• Calculation of drilling forces, pulling forces and flushing quantities and compositions (bentonite)
• Preparation of variant comparisons and economic efficiency considerations for route alignments
• Creation and maintenance of route plans, site plans and longitudinal profiles in CAD/GIS
• Obtaining and coordination of approval procedures (e.g. crossing agreements, water authority permits, planning approval procedures)
• Active advice to the client on the choice of route alignments, construction methods and technical solution approaches
• Communication and coordination with all project participants – clients, authorities, subcontractors as well as internal project managers and planning teams
• Representation of the project to offices and authorities as well as ensuring transparent and solution-oriented project communication
• Creation of documentation, drilling records, measurements and billing documents
• Close cooperation with project managers, construction managers and the interdisciplinary planning team

• Completed degree in civil engineering, supply engineering, geotechnics or a comparable technical course of study (alternatively: technician/master craftsman with relevant professional experience)
• Knowledge of route planning and trenchless pipeline construction, especially HDD methods and pipe jacking methods
• Knowledge of excavation planning and shoring measures in special civil engineering
• Knowledge of relevant technical regulations
• Experience with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS systems
• Basic knowledge of geotechnics, soil mechanics and ground assessment an advantage
• Experience with approval procedures for crossing structures (roads, waterways, railways and pipelines) desirable
• Basic knowledge of logistics and drainage planning an advantage
• Independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working
