Abiturientenprogramm – Trade Business Administrator

At OBI you can expect an exciting career start in which you obtain three qualifications within just three years: the shortened apprenticeship as a retail salesperson, the subsequent further training as a Trade Business Administrator (Handelsfachwirt) and the trainer aptitude certificate according to AEVO. In the end you reach exactly the same level as with a Bachelor's degree (Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework). The framework conditions: You work five days a week in various shifts within our opening hours (Monday to Saturday). During your three apprenticeship years you attend ten two-week seminars at a training centre, which ideally complement your practical training and prepare you comprehensively for the examinations.

Trade knowledge – you familiarise yourself intensively with the areas of sales, assortment and processes to build up broad trade knowledge; customer advice – competent advice to our customers on site in the store and processing of digital customer enquiries; operational support – you actively support our department heads in daily tasks and contribute directly to the store's success; further training – use the diverse further training opportunities offered by OBI to continuously expand your knowledge; contribute ideas – actively bring in your own ideas, because we meet at eye level and value your opinion; independent working style – you work independently on your tasks while maintaining close exchange with the store management; practical projects – you gain valuable experience during our apprentice project week or in our two-week apprentice store.

You have successfully completed your (technical) Abitur by the start of training; you are open, committed, actively approach people and shine together as a team; step by step you take on more responsibility, are assertive and ambitious; you are open to assignments in various stores in your region; you have a great enthusiasm for retail; ideally you already have some experience (part-time job/internship).
