High School Graduate Program - Retail Trade Specialist

At OBI, an exciting career start awaits you, in which you obtain three qualifications within just three years: the shortened apprenticeship as a retail merchant, the subsequent further training as a certified retail trade specialist, and the trainer aptitude certificate according to AEVO. In the end, you reach exactly the same level as with a Bachelor's degree (Level 6 according to the European Qualifications Framework). The framework conditions: You work five days a week in various shifts within our opening hours (Monday to Saturday). During your three apprenticeship years, you attend ten two-week seminars at an education center, which ideally complement your practical training and comprehensively prepare you for the exams. Retail knowledge - You intensively familiarize yourself with the areas of sales, assortment, and processes to build broad retail knowledge. Customer consulting - Competent consulting of our customers on-site in the store and processing of digital customer inquiries. Operational support - You actively support our department heads in daily tasks and directly contribute to the store's success. Further training - Use the diverse further training opportunities we offer at OBI to continuously expand your knowledge. Contribute ideas - Actively bring in your own ideas, because we meet at eye level and value your opinion. Independent working style - You work responsibly on your tasks while maintaining close exchange with store management. School leaving certificate - You have successfully completed your (technical) Abitur by the start of the apprenticeship. Commitment & Communication - You are open, committed, actively approach people, and shine together as a team. Sense of responsibility - Step by step you take on more responsibility, are assertive and ambitious. Mobility & Flexibility - You are open to assignments in various stores in your region. Passion for retail - You bring great enthusiasm for retail; ideally you already have some experience (part-time job/internship).

Attractive pay - Graduated remuneration: €1,280 (months 1-12), €1,425 (from month 13), €2,400 (from approx. month 19; after passing the IHK exam as retail merchant) plus pro-rata holiday and Christmas bonus. Cost coverage for further training - We cover all costs for your training and further education at the BZE in Springe (including travel, accommodation, and meals). Mobility bonus - Receive up to €30 net monthly, graduated according to your commute. Full bonus from six kilometers; for shorter distances you receive a pro-rata subsidy.
