Design Engineer / Technician in Defence Sector

In the Defence Construction area, you will play a central role in the design, planning and implementation of fitting and equipment components for crew and operating spaces. You will accompany the entire process (from technical conception through supplier management to acceptance) and work closely with internal and external interfaces. • Based on customer requirements, you develop technical concepts for fitting and equipment solutions and implement them in 3D designs, fitting and overview drawings, and complete design and production documents.
• From the design of individual components to the integration of complete fitting systems, you are responsible for technical coordination with adjacent trades and ensure smooth interface coordination.
• As part of procurement, you create technical order and test specifications, evaluate offers technically, and take over the technical management of sub-suppliers.
• During the realization phase, you accompany production, support technical issues, participate in acceptance and trials, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality requirements.
• You coordinate and document changes in the project independently, maintain technical databases, and ensure transparency about the current status within your area of responsibility.
• In close coordination with customers, classification societies, and internal departments, you plan and manage your work packages independently and goal-oriented.

• Completed degree (Bachelor, Master, Diplom) or further training as a technician in the fields of shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, interior architecture or a comparable technical discipline
• Professional experience in the field of fitting/equipment in (naval) shipbuilding, ideally at a shipyard or with a relevant supplier
• Sound knowledge of the design and integration of technical components and systems as well as the creation of design, production, procurement and test documentation
• Good 3D CAD skills (preferably in Siemens NX) and confident use of MS Office applications
• Ideally knowledge of relevant maritime construction regulations, standards and classification requirements
• Experience in technical evaluation of offers, experience in managing subcontractors desirable
• Structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working, sense of responsibility and confident demeanor
• Good German and English skills, both written and spoken
• Willingness to undertake project-dependent national travel (approx. 3-5%) and occasional international business trips
