Shopfloor (BDE) IT Software Engineer

The Shopfloor IT Software Engineer develops, maintains and optimizes BDE and MES systems in the production environment, ensures technical integration of shopfloor data into the IT landscape, creates interfaces to ERP systems and contributes to digitalization and automation of production and logistics processes.

• Development, adaptation and support of BDE software solutions in the shopfloor environment
• Integration of BDE systems with ERP and MES systems (e.g. SAP, Dynamics, Infor)
• Design and implementation of interfaces and data flows between production, logistics and IT
• Ensuring data quality and availability for reporting and analysis
• Support for Industry 4.0, IoT and automation projects
• Creation of dashboards, reports and analysis tools for production and logistics teams
• Collaboration with departments, IT and external partners on system introductions and upgrades
• Troubleshooting and support for users on the shopfloor

• Completed degree in computer science, business informatics, production engineering or similar
• Experience with BDE, MES and ERP systems and their interfaces
• Knowledge of software development (e.g. C#, Java, C++) and databases (PL/SQL)
• Experience with reporting and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
• Understanding of production and logistics processes and their key figures
• Experience with Python, cloud technologies and IoT platforms is an advantage
• Analytical thinking and structured way of working
• Strong communication skills and ability to mediate between IT and production
