Systems Engineer - Focus on Communications Engineering & Mobile Communications

Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH is looking for a systems engineer in Bremen with a focus on communications engineering and mobile communications. The position is permanent and full-time, and covers developing and optimizing systems and components with mobile data links such as LTE and 5G.

• Developing and optimizing systems and components with mobile data links (e.g. LTE, 5G, future standards)
• Creating concepts, architectures, specifications and test plans for systems and components
• Working with interdisciplinary teams at customers, suppliers and internal departments
• Analyzing, modeling and simulating transmission paths and communication protocols
• Carrying out system tests, performance analyses and validations in the lab and in the field (5G transmission protocols, campus networks, front- & backhaul)
• Troubleshooting and fixing faults in complex communication systems

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, telecommunications or comparable
• At least 5 years of professional experience in mobile communications or communications engineering
• Sound knowledge of digital modulation methods, signal processing and mobile communication protocols
• Experience with tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python or comparable development environments
• Confident use of measurement and test equipment
• Structured way of working, analytical thinking and team orientation
• Experience from the Bundeswehr signals/communications field is an advantage
