Technical Writer, Descriptive Documentation

As a technical writer for descriptive documentation, you design, create and update customers' technical documentation in line with applicable guidelines (e.g. ASD S1000D). Because of the project business, you can expect detailed technical tasks and will get to know different vehicle areas. Full-time, fixed-term contract.

• Creating complex technical documents in an understandable, audience-appropriate form based on technical construction documents
• Researching relevant technical documents needed to create technical documentation (e.g. from IT systems, archives, suppliers or design)
• Preparing cost estimates and proof of services
• Commissioning and instructing, and consulting with, downstream departments (graphics and editing)
• Regular exchange with internal and external departments as well as clients and subcontractors
• Verifying the documentation on the hardware
• Link between internal and external editorial teams and project management

• Completed degree in technical documentation or a general technical degree. Alternatively, completed technical training with further education as a technician
• Strong technical understanding and practical experience in mechanical, aircraft or ship engineering, electrics, electronics or similar
• Basic knowledge of creating technical documentation
• Good knowledge of military technology is desirable
• English, spoken and written
• Ability to work independently and systematically
