Environmental Officer for Northern Sites - PA 4703/2026 - C3QUS

Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH is looking for an environmental officer for its Silberhütte and Trittau sites. The permanent full time role supports environmental protection, environmental approval procedures, and environmental and energy management.

• Work with and support the environmental protection team within the HSE and Product Safety department
• Provide practical support in meeting environmental duties and tasks under laws covering waste, wastewater, soil protection, emissions control and other areas at the Trittau and Silberhütte (Harzgerode) sites
• Help carry out environmental notification and permit procedures in these areas of law
• Prepare documents and coordinate with the relevant authorities and external experts and assessors
• Manage, maintain and develop registers of environmental and energy laws and equipment
• Support and improve environmental and energy management through active participation in the environmental and energy teams at these sites
• Plan and support surveys, remediation and clearance work involving contaminated sites and unexploded ordnance

• A completed degree in engineering or natural sciences, preferably in environmental studies, ecology or a similar field
• Professional experience in workplace environmental protection, environmental notification and permit procedures, and working with authorities, experts, and internal and external auditors
• Ideally, specialist qualifications as a company officer for waste, emissions control and major accident prevention, plus knowledge of environmental and energy management
• Basic knowledge of contaminated sites, including soil and groundwater pollution, and unexploded ordnance
• Very good spoken and written German
• Willingness to travel for work
• A practical approach to solving problems that considers costs, along with strong personal initiative
