Apprenticeship: Industrial Clerks (2027)

The Schwäbisch Gmünd site is the lead plant for the Vehicle Motion division and comprises the development competence center, central functions, and production. United by a passion for steering, around 4,000 employees from various nations work here across different fields and three sub-plants. They manufacture safe, comfortable, and innovative steering systems for the global passenger car and commercial vehicle markets.

Training focal points: For sound theoretical knowledge, you attend vocational school one to two days per week. In the learning fields there, you learn e.g. how to plan projects, you learn more about customer orders and procurement processes, how value streams are documented in accounting, what logistics and warehousing processes exist, and how marketing concepts and HR processes can be innovatively designed. During operational assignments in areas such as production, logistics, HR, finance or accounting, and marketing, you plan, control, and monitor production processes and create order accompanying documents. You control business processes, manage goods receipt and storage, compare offers, and prepare calculations. In addition, you perform capacity reconciliations, create bills of materials and work plans. By working on concrete project tasks in clerical processing or secretarial work, you can further develop your professional and personal skills. We place particular emphasis on fostering independence, creativity, teamwork, and willingness to take responsibility. Special focus is placed on IT skills and Business English. Training duration: 3 years. With particularly good performance, the training period can be shortened by half a year.
