The state-recognized Ausbildung to become a Medical Assistant, or MFA for short, lasts three years and takes place in cooperation with the Alexander-Fleming-Schule in Stuttgart, a vocational school for health and care.

The vocational Ausbildung is dual, with our trainees alternating between the Robert Bosch Krankenhaus (3.5 days/week) and the vocational school (1.5 days/week).

The Theory

Theoretical lessons take place at the Alexander-Fleming-Schule at Hedwig-Dohmstrasse 1 in Stuttgart. Trainees are released for this for 13 hours per week (one full day and one morning or afternoon).

Practical Training

You will spend the rest of the week in practical training at the Robert Bosch Krankenhaus and get to know a wide variety of areas of application. You will directly apply the knowledge you have learned in practice and take on responsible tasks.

Our range of services is broad yet specialized: practical Ausbildung at the Robert Bosch Krankenhaus extends to surgical, internal medicine, and gynecological consultations, and the specialist areas of cardiology, pulmonology, and nephrology. Assignments also take place in the interdisciplinary emergency center and on various nursing wards.

• Implementation of measures for diagnostics and therapy under guidance and supervision
• Fundamentals of prevention and rehabilitation
• Action in emergencies and incidents

• Minimum age 17 years
• Realschulabschluss or equivalent school leaving certificate or Hauptschulabschluss with completed, at least two-year vocational Ausbildung
• Proof of health suitability
• Internship in a practice or outpatient clinic is an advantage
• Medical fitness certificate
• Police clearance certificate
