Support Engineer

ipoque, a Rohde & Schwarz company providing IP network analysis solutions, is seeking a Support Engineer in Leipzig. This permanent, full-time role combines customer support for cloud-based software with the operation of IT infrastructure and cloud services.

• Act as the link between development teams and customers using cloud-based software solutions
• Support customers with application and service deployments
• Manage bare-metal, virtualised and cloud-based networks, servers and peripherals, ensuring security, stability and availability
• Manage PaaS and cloud-based services such as Kafka, Cassandra, OpenSearch, Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes, keeping them available and up to date
• Document procedures for creating and adapting IT systems
• Provide knowledgeable support for technical questions

• Completed degree or vocational training in computer science, or professional experience in the relevant field
• Very good Linux skills and experience with containers, preferably Docker, cloud services such as Kubernetes, and virtualisation such as VMware
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment is desirable
• Knowledge of the Python scripting language
• Knowledge of building and managing network infrastructure
• Strong initiative, communication skills, team spirit and quality awareness, with a willingness to learn new subjects independently and keep developing
• English language skills
