The training at our state-recognized health and nursing school is varied and exciting. Over three years, we provide you with all the knowledge and skills needed to meet all requirements placed on operating theatre assistants. You will be trained in alternating practical and theoretical training phases to independently perform and assist, particularly in the operative areas of inpatient and outpatient care as well as in other diagnostic and therapeutic care areas, including the underlying learning competencies.

The training qualifies you, among other things: to carry out needs-based measures and procedures for the care of patients during their stay in the operative care area, taking into account their respective physical and mental health conditions. To professionally prepare and follow up on the operating room and assist during surgeries. In handling surgical instruments and operating specialized technology in compliance with special hygiene regulations.

Empathy, motivation, teamwork skills, and personality. Enjoyment of and sense of responsibility in dealing with sick people of all age groups and their relatives. A secondary school leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss), alternatively a lower secondary school leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss) with at least two years of vocational training, or a lower secondary school leaving certificate with an assistant or helper training in nursing plus a one-year training in nursing or geriatric care assistance.
