Production Operations Specialist

SCHOTT is seeking skilled technical staff for its glass melting operations, producing high quality speciality glass. The role includes operating and setting up machinery, carrying out minor maintenance, and helping improve production processes.

• Operate, set up, and prepare machines and equipment for glass melting
• Carry out minor servicing and maintenance, including documentation in SAP
• Support process engineers and production order preparation staff with process improvements
• Identify and analyse deviations and take suitable corrective action
• Manage disruptions in close coordination with emergency planning
• Take responsibility for equipment setup and compliance with shape and product specifications
• Follow production specifications and process or enter records in SAP
• Train new employees in glass melting operations

• Completed technical vocational training, for example as a process mechanic, industrial mechanic, or machine operator
• Experience in glass melting, hot forming, or similar production areas is an advantage
• Experience with and willingness to work shifts
• Technical understanding of thermal processes, plant operation, and process control is an advantage
• A responsible approach to teamwork and close attention to safety and quality
• Good documentation skills and ideally basic SAP knowledge
• Very good spoken and written German
