Apprenticeship as a Food Technology Specialist

Three-year apprenticeship at Bonback in Übach-Palenberg, covering industrial production of high-quality baked goods and food. Theory classes take place in blocks at ZDS in Solingen.

• During your three-year apprenticeship, gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in industrial production of high-quality baked goods and food.
• Check incoming raw materials and set up and monitor computer-controlled production and packaging equipment.
• Learn about computer-controlled dough preparation in machine production, through to fully automated packaging and storage.
• Become a specialist in hygiene and quality standards to ensure food safety meets legal requirements.
• Complete practical training at Bonback in Übach-Palenberg and learn the theory during block classes at ZDS, the German confectionery industry's central technical school, in Solingen.

• An intermediate school leaving certificate or equivalent, with good grades in science subjects, particularly chemistry, biology and mathematics.
• An interest in technical processes and how they work.
• Enjoyment of working with computer-controlled systems and an interest in food.
• Willingness to work shifts during and after your apprenticeship.
• Teamwork skills, a sense of responsibility and motivation.
