Your area of responsibility SIGNAL IDUNA plans to further expand the cloud platform and infrastructure and is looking for experienced and highly motivated IT specialists in the field of cloud engineering/architecture with a focus on Google Cloud. In particular, we work in the Google Cloud on generative AI solutions and hand in hand with internal departments, data science and experts from Google to be at the forefront technologically. As a Cloud Platform Engineer (m/f/d) you support these cloud developments and are co-responsible for the technological planning, the implementation of the platform and the support in the implementation of generative AI solutions.

• Support an interdisciplinary team (squad) in developing new solutions based on Large Language Models (LLMs) using the following technologies: Google Cloud, Vertex AI, LangChain, Gemini, Python-based microservices, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Terraform
• Establishment of standardized processes and methods (best practices) and a sustainable enterprise architecture in the generative environment, participation in the development/implementation of cloud security concepts
• Participation in the development of architecture guidelines and support of projects with modern architecture standards in the public cloud environment
• Consideration of data protection, legal and ethical aspects in connection with the application of ML models to personal data
• Close contact with technical product owners to convince them to migrate their applications through sound knowledge of cloud benefits
• Establishment of standardized processes and mechanisms as well as consulting on the implementation and commissioning of products and services in the Google Cloud
• Use of modern methods for automation, deployment (CI/CD) and further development of complex infrastructures and services in the public cloud

• Completed IT degree or comparable qualification with IT competence
• Experience in public cloud (AWS, Azure, preferably GCP) and Terraform (IaC)
• First experience in development, deployment and integration of generative AI applications in enterprise context, by building suitable infrastructure components based on Terraform (CI/CD pipeline)
• Familiar with the use of Python as programming language
• First practical experience with agile methods and agile-led projects
• Ideally knowledge of industry standards, security concepts, guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements from the insurance and finance environment
• Teamwork and strong communication skills (negotiation-proficient in German and good in English)
