Public Cloud Engineer Focus on Generative AI

SIGNAL IDUNA plans to expand its cloud platform and infrastructure further and is looking for IT specialists in cloud engineering/architecture with a focus on Google Cloud. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you support cloud developments and share responsibility for technology planning, platform implementation and support in delivering Generative AI solutions.

• Support an interdisciplinary team (squad) in developing new solutions based on Large Language Models (LLMs) using the following technologies: Google Cloud, Vertex AI, LangChain, Gemini, Python-based microservices, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Terraform
• Establish standardised processes and methods (best practices) and a sustainable enterprise architecture in the Generative AI area, and contribute to developing/implementing cloud security concepts
• Help develop architecture guidelines and look after projects with modern architecture standards in the public cloud environment
• Take data protection, legal and ethical aspects into account when applying ML models to personal data
• Stay in close contact with technical product owners to convince them, through sound knowledge of cloud benefits, to migrate their applications
• Establish standardised processes and mechanisms and advise on implementing and launching products and services in Google Cloud
• Use modern methods for automation, deployment (CI/CD) and further development of complex infrastructures and services in the public cloud

• Completed IT degree or comparable qualification with IT expertise
• Relevant experience in public cloud (AWS, Azure, preferably GCP) and Terraform (IaC)
• First experience in developing, deploying and integrating Generative AI applications in a business context by building suitable infrastructure components based on Terraform (CI/CD pipeline)
• Experience with version control systems such as GitLab, GitHub or Bitbucket
• Familiar with using Python as a programming language
• Practical experience with agile methods and agile projects
• Ideally knowledge of industry standards, security concepts, policies and regulatory compliance requirements from the insurance and finance sector
• Ideally existing cloud certifications. Willingness to take part in training to gain knowledge and to successfully certify is important
• Team player with strong communication skills (fluent in German and very good in English)
