Apprenticeship as Environmental Technologist for Sewer Networks and Industrial Facilities

You will complete a varied apprenticeship in a future-proof sector and help maintain Cologne's sewer system while protecting the environment.

Maintaining the functionality of the sewer system; inspecting and examining the sewer network using computer-controlled technology; arranging repairs and resolving faults with modern cleaning technology; block vocational training at Hans Schwier Vocational College in Gelsenkirchen; attending courses at the DEULA training center in Kempen; staying in a guesthouse during vocational-school blocks and inter-company training

Lower secondary school certificate after grade 9 or type 10 B or 10 A; at least satisfactory grades in chemistry, physics and mathematics; manual dexterity; interest in technology; team spirit and careful working methods; ideally initial experience through practical manual training

Very good and intensive support from trainers and training coordinators; more than €1,300 gross monthly pay in the first training year plus an annual special payment; free Germany ticket and 31 days of vacation; annual trainee team days and other events; possibility of shortening the apprenticeship with good performance; responsibility from the start and joint trainee projects; development opportunities after the apprenticeship; iPhones and iPads throughout the training period; subsidy for an Urban Sports Club membership; daily contribution to environmental protection
