During your three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship, you will learn in our plant and at vocational school, among other things: building and testing circuits and control technology, troubleshooting machines and systems; safely applying metalworking processes such as machining, separating, forming, and joining; properly using auxiliary materials and creating/using technical documents; correctly assessing occupational safety and environmental protection; planning and organizing work and evaluating results. As an industrial mechanic, you keep machines and systems operational and fix faults and malfunctions. After the apprenticeship, you have the chance to further qualify as a master craftsperson or technician or to pursue a degree. During your apprenticeship, you receive an attractive salary (according to the collective agreement of the iron and steel industry NRW; as of 01.01.2026): €1,176 in the first year, €1,231 in the second, €1,314 in the third, €1,420 in the fourth.
