About this Apprenticeship
Three and a half year apprenticeship at thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG in Bochum, combining training at the plant and vocational school. As a metal process technologist specialising in steel forming, you monitor and control flat steel production equipment, improve work processes and ensure product quality.
What You'll Learn
- Learn how mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical machines work
- Learn the basics of steel processing and methods of forming steel
- Handle materials and supplies and read and create technical drawings
- Understand the importance of workplace safety and environmental protection
- Plan and organise work and assess results
- Monitor and control flat steel production equipment
- Improve work processes and take responsibility for product quality

- School leaving qualification
- Interest in steel processing and willingness to take responsibility
- Enjoyment of working across different technical areas and analysing problems

- Willingness to discover new things and approach others openly
