Apprenticeship as Materials Tester - 2027

At thyssenkrupp Hohenlimburg GmbH, the Precision Steel business unit of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe, you learn over a three-and-a-half-year apprenticeship at the plant and vocational school to test the quality and properties of materials and components. After training you can, for example, continue to become a materials technology technician or industrial foreman, or study.

• Creating and using technical documents.
• Measuring, testing, comparing, controlling, regulating and adjusting.
• You work with electrical engineering basics, heat treatment, and sampling and sample preparation.
• Setting up, calibrating and operating testing machines.
• Metallographic examinations.
• Determining mechanical and physical material properties.
• Non-destructive materials testing.
• Documenting test results.
