About this Apprenticeship
TKMS is seeking a machinist in Kiel to machine large shipbuilding components using CNC equipment. This permanent, full-time role includes operating milling machines, CNC programming and routine machine care.
What You'll Learn
- Operate a CNC milling machine to machine large shipbuilding components, including independently clamping and aligning components
- Produce running surfaces, precision fits and demanding surface finishes according to technical drawings and relevant standards
- Select, assemble, preset and efficiently use tools while meeting cost and quality requirements
- Write simple CNC programs manually and adapt and improve existing programs using Siemens 840D sl controls
- Carry out maintenance and servicing of machine tools as part of daily care
Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a machinist specializing in milling, ideally with several years of experience in CNC machining
- Knowledge of Siemens 840D sl controls and ideally Heidenhain
- Experience using common computer systems
- A strong sense of responsibility, the ability to improvise and strong organizational skills
- Willingness to work shifts
