About this Apprenticeship

The Institute of Medical Informatics (IMI) is looking for reinforcement in the Medical Data Integration Centre (MeDIC). Computer science, medicine and research work together here to develop modern IT solutions for digital medicine. Project-based fixed term until 31.12.2027, full-time with 38.5 hours per week, pay according to TV-L E13.

What You'll Learn

Contributing to interdisciplinary research and development projects at the interface of computer science and medicine
Analysis of technical and functional requirements as well as concept, design and implementation of interfaces
Development of interfaces between hospital information systems and the medical research databases of MeDIC
Processing and integration of medical data using established data models and medical informatics standards
Further development of solutions for data integration and data use for medical research
Helping shape data-based IT solutions for the digitalisation of healthcare

Requirements

Completed master's degree in computer science, medical informatics or business informatics
First practical experience in software development, ideally with Java/Kotlin and SQL, is desirable
Interest in hospital information systems and the digitalisation of healthcare
Interest in medical informatics standards, especially FHIR and HL7 v2, and in medical terminologies
Interest in data modelling, data integration, data warehousing, pseudonymisation and consent management
Interest in data protection and regulatory questions in healthcare
Good English skills and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
