Plumbing, Heating and Medical Gas Technician

Permanent full-time or part-time role in the Building Services Department within the Construction and Engineering Division at Dresden University Medicine. Starts on 1 March 2027 with at least 35 working hours per week. Pay follows the employer's pay scale, at grade U8 or U9 depending on qualifications and individual eligibility.

• Operate, configure, maintain, inspect and repair the department's building services systems
• Continually assess the department's building services systems to plan replacements, meet legal requirements and keep systems up to date with current technology
• Regularly maintain system documentation and enter and update technical equipment records in SAP
• Organise, coordinate, monitor and settle billing for maintenance services
• Provide technical oversight of new construction and renovation work as the person responsible for building services
• Provide technical advice and support to project managers on larger construction projects
• Work mainly early shifts, with a willingness to work occasional late and night shifts

• Knowledge of Office applications and SAP is desirable
• Completed vocational qualification as a skilled worker, technician or master craftsperson in heating, plumbing or medical gas systems
• Sound knowledge of flood protection and lifting systems, drinking water disinfection and sprinkler systems, swimming pool water treatment systems, gas detection and high-purity gas systems
• Participation in current professional training courses
• Specialist knowledge of current generally applicable technical rules and regulations for ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration
• Basic knowledge of hospital operations technology and building services is desirable
• Basic knowledge of building management systems, electronics, measurement and control systems, and fire alarm systems is desirable
• Ability to work independently, flexibility and negotiation skills
• Decisiveness, coordination skills and a patient-focused approach to work
• Good communication skills
• Medical certificate proving measles protection under the Infection Protection Act
• Further proof of vaccination status before starting work
