Medical Assistant, Blood Donation

The blood donation service at UKSH's Institute of Transfusion Medicine is seeking two additional medical assistants for its Lübeck team at Ratzeburger Allee and CITTI-Park, and for mobile blood donation sessions. The permanent role starts as soon as possible.

• Register and care for blood donors and independently perform blood count measurements using an automated analyser
• Perform venepuncture for preliminary examinations or blood donation and supervise automated plasma and platelet apheresis under medical supervision
• Help with mobile blood donation sessions, including preparation and follow-up work
• Opportunity to help in the coagulation outpatient clinic or travel vaccination clinic
• Help process donated blood if interested

• Completed vocational training as a medical assistant or in another medical profession
• Ideally, previous experience in the work described above
• An independent and conscientious approach to work
• Enjoyment of working with blood donors and as part of a team with the shared goal of saving lives
