About this Apprenticeship
Expert nursing and care of residents with dementia and other gerontopsychiatric conditions Independent assessment of individual care needs as well as planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process with a gerontopsychiatric focus Person-centered support and relationship care that places quality of life, dignity, and self-determination at the center Counseling and guidance of colleagues, participation in case discussions and in the further development of our gerontopsychiatric concepts Close cooperation with general practitioners and specialists (e.g., neurology, psychiatry) as well as therapists
What You'll Learn
- Expert nursing and care of residents with dementia and other gerontopsychiatric conditions
- Independent assessment of individual care needs as well as planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process with a gerontopsychiatric focus
- Person-centered support and relationship care that places quality of life, dignity, and self-determination at the center

- Close cooperation with general practitioners and specialists (e.g., neurology, psychiatry) as well as therapists
Requirements
- Completed three-year training as a nursing specialist (nurse, geriatric nurse, health and nurse, nurse)
- Further training as a gerontopsychiatric specialist or as a specialist for psychiatric nursing
- Experience in caring for people with dementia desirable
- Patience, empathy, and an appreciative attitude
