Facility Caretaker at the Cultural Office

The City of Science Darmstadt is seeking a Facility Caretaker for all properties of the Cultural Office. The role includes building services, minor repairs, monitoring major renovations, organisation of locking services, instruction on technical equipment, cleaning supervision, leaf removal, winter service, assistance with events and monument preservation, as well as messenger and transport drives.

Facility caretaking for all Cultural Office properties: building services, independent execution of minor repair and maintenance work, processing and reporting of damage cases. Scheduling and monitoring of major repair and maintenance work, organisation of locking services, instruction of users on technical equipment, monitoring and ensuring cleaning, supplementary leaf removal and winter service as needed, appointed safety officer. Assistance in preparation and execution of events: set-up and dismantling of tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment etc. Assistance in maintenance of monuments (securing, monitoring repair and restoration measures). Messenger and transport drives.

Completed training in a skilled trade. Several years of relevant professional experience (minimum 2 years). Driving licence. Manual dexterity. Technical understanding. Structured working method. Sound MS Office skills. Flexibility, initiative, organisational ability, sense of responsibility and reliability. Suitability for screen work. Desirable: Willingness to acquire further technical or craft expertise.
