Logistics Department Manager

As a department manager at Zalando's new logistics centre in Gießen, you will manage your department's daily operations and lead its staff, including responsibility for performance and personnel matters. Working with team leaders, you will help shape the new site and improve processes.

• Take full responsibility for your department as its line manager, making operational and staffing decisions and supporting team members' personal development
• Manage your department using performance figures and quickly take effective action when results fall short; use analytical skills to identify opportunities and improve processes
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and work closely with other departments to keep the entire logistics centre running smoothly
• Contribute ideas to improve processes and introduce new approaches, sharing your vision for the future with management

• A completed degree or comparable vocational qualification and several years of logistics experience, ideally including direct management responsibility for more than 20 employees
• Strong communication skills, the ability to motivate your team and a calm approach to difficult situations
• Expert knowledge of logistics processes, employment law and the German Works Constitution Act, enabling you to act quickly and effectively
• Ability to manage operations using performance figures, identify opportunities for improvement and apply sound knowledge of workplace health and safety
• German at C2 level and English at B2 level for daily communication
