Apprenticeship as a Butcher

The Family Butchers brings together traditional companies to form an innovative and family-oriented producer of sausage and ham products. The apprenticeship takes place at the Nortrup site and lasts three years, including vocational school.

You learn how to professionally cut and process meat according to high quality standards. You help produce different types of sausage and specialties, check product quality, follow hygiene regulations, and work closely with experienced butchers and the team.

You have at least an intermediate secondary school certificate with satisfactory grades in mathematics, biology, and physics. You are interested in traditional craftsmanship, motivated, and open to new experiences. Ideally, you have already completed an internship in this field.

You start with more than €1,000 gross in the first year. You receive an iPad for the entire apprenticeship, have strong chances of permanent employment, and your travel costs to vocational school and exam preparation costs are covered. There is also an annual apprentice event, free breakfast and lunch, a bonus for successfully completing the apprenticeship, employee discounts, and a Hansefit partnership.
