IT/OT Architect Production Systems

We are among the top addresses in the IT world and focus on optimizing our customers' core business processes. Through the smart use of tailored IT solutions, we support our customers in getting the best out of their business and current technologies.

• Design the production architectures of the future: You develop IT/OT target architectures for customers in the manufacturing and process industries and create the foundation for resilient, secure and future-proof production environments.
• Architecture work at the intersection of OT, IT and Security: You design holistic architectures that connect production systems such as PLC, MES, SCADA, Historian or control centers with modern IT solutions such as cloud, edge, IoT and data platforms – focusing on integrability, scalability, maintainability and security.
• Anchor Security-by-Design in production: You consider Security-by-Design in architecture work and translate OT security requirements into viable concepts – e.g. for segmentation, secure plant connection or remote access.
• Further develop architecture for production: You translate functional and technical requirements into coordinated target images and architecture concepts for production IT. You ensure that local production solutions, site architectures and overarching enterprise architectures work together consistently.
• Shape data and integration architectures: You structure production data along functional and technical requirements and develop viable data and integration architectures – from the machine via shopfloor systems to analytical and business-oriented platforms.
• Evaluate technologies and standards: You evaluate frameworks, platforms, methods and architecture approaches for use in production environments and contribute to further developing existing solutions technologically and methodically.

• Solid education: You have a degree, e.g. in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Architecture experience in industrial production environments: You have several years of experience in developing and implementing IT, OT or integration architectures – ideally in the manufacturing or process industry (e.g. mechanical and plant engineering, automotive, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, chemicals) – and know the specifics of OT-related systems such as PLC, MES, SCADA, DCS, Historian, BDE/MDE or production networks.
• Strong IT/OT competence: You understand the requirements of OT environments as well as modern IT architectures and connect both worlds technologically, organizationally and architecturally.
• Industry 4.0, integration and cloud know-how: You have experience with technologies and standards around IIoT, Edge, APIs, containerization, data platforms as well as hybrid cloud architectures on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud in an industrial context.
• OT Security and structured architecture work are a plus: You have initial contact with security requirements in production environments (e.g. segmentation, secure plant connection, remote access, IEC 62443) and ideally with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF – or want to develop further in this direction.
• AI Competence: You have in-depth AI expertise, actively shape its responsible use in your area of responsibility and act as an enabler for customers and internally at adesso.
• Language skills: Very good German and good English skills
