Apprenticeship Industrial Mechanic Specialisation Production Technology

Industrial mechanics (d/m/f) are deployed in the manufacture, maintenance and monitoring of technical systems. The focus of their work is setting up, converting and commissioning production systems. Typical areas of deployment are maintenance, mechanical and plant engineering, production technology and precision engineering. During the apprenticeship you will learn: reading and handling technical documents and the manual and mechanical processing of metallic and non-metallic materials; manufacturing components and assemblies using various production processes, assembling them into technical systems and testing their function; setting up workstations, converting machines and systems as well as carrying out maintenance and inspections on these machines; familiarising yourself with modern control technology and building, extending and testing electrical components of control technology; detecting faults and their causes in technical systems and maintaining the systems. The apprenticeship lasts 3.5 years. After the apprenticeship you can develop further as a specialist in various areas, work in project teams and take on first technical management tasks. Further training to become a master craftsman, technician or a technical degree course are also open to you.

Very good lower secondary school certificate with qualifying certificate, good intermediate school certificate or general higher education entrance qualification; enjoyment and interest in working with state-of-the-art technology; pronounced understanding of technical and logical interrelationships; good spatial imagination and manual dexterity.
