HUMS Technical Support Specialist

Airbus Helicopters is looking for support for the ESATD department, which is responsible for technical support of HUMS. The Health & Usage Monitoring System is based on data collected from the customer fleet and supports maintenance through early detection. With the FlyScan service, the team helps operators analyze flight and vibration data to continuously improve fleet safety and availability.

• Data preparation & integration: Collecting, cleaning and merging complex datasets from various sources and preparing raw data for machine learning models
• Data analysis & trend detection: Systematic analysis of large amounts of data to identify key trends, patterns and actionable operational insights
• Model development: Developing, testing and continuously refining statistical and machine learning models
• Predictive maintenance: Developing and implementing practical tools for equipment condition monitoring and failure prediction of helicopter components
• Agile project delivery: End-to-end management of data projects, from initial concept to final deployment, within agile frameworks
• Visualization & reporting: Creating intuitive dashboards and visual reports (e.g. with TIBCO Spotfire, Google Workspace tools) to support internal and external stakeholders

• Completed university degree in a technical field, alternatively a technician with several years of extensive professional experience
• Required professional experience: Previous experience in aviation, knowledge of helicopter maintenance and repair or in a supporting function is a must
• Time series data: Solid background in analyzing time series data, especially aircraft sensor and maintenance data
• Applied statistics: Solid knowledge of core statistics, including anomaly detection, probability theory and hypothesis testing
• Programming & databases: Knowledge of Python programming, SQL database management and DevOps
• Big data tools: Practical experience processing and handling large datasets (e.g. Palantir)
• Machine learning: Practical experience building, validating and optimizing machine learning models
• Open-minded, proactive and forward-looking
