Operating Theatre Technical Assistant

As an operating theatre technical assistant, you are the right hand of doctors and surgeons before, during and after operations. After training you can work in surgical departments as well as in outpatient and emergency admission, endoscopy and central sterilisation. The three-year training starts on 1 September or 1 October depending on the region.

• Properly equipping various operations with instruments and supporting the operating team
• Organising and coordinating a smooth workflow
• Preparing and following up materials, devices and instruments
• Carrying out disinfection and hygiene measures in the operating department

• At least a Realschule certificate, an equivalent qualification, or a Hauptschule certificate plus a two-year vocational training or a training of at least one year in health and nursing care or elderly care
• Health suitability for the profession
• Good grades in German and in science subjects
