About this Apprenticeship
Training as a road maintenance worker is varied and diverse. You check roadways, guardrails and bridges for damage, repair and asphalt, take care of green areas and keep the motorways clear in winter. You learn the practical side at the Autobahnmeisterei Schwandorf and the theory at the Josef-Greising vocational school in Würzburg and at the training center, currently the BauindustrieZentrum in Nürnberg-Wetzendorf. The training ends with an IHK exam.

Requirements
- Willingness to learn, to get involved and to perform
- Reliability, teamwork and initiative
- Manual skills and technical understanding
- At least a Hauptschulabschluss or Berufsbildungsreife
- At least satisfactory grades in German, mathematics and physics/technology or natural sciences
- Physical fitness for driving vehicles and for physical outdoor work in every season
