Apprenticeship as Industrial Mechanic

Industrial mechanics maintain the technical systems and machines of Munich's two large wastewater treatment plants and the sewer network, and are responsible for repair, maintenance and servicing. Training lasts three and a half years, full-time and part-time possible. Basic training at Stadtwerke München, vocational school in block classes.

• Teaching of scientific, technical and business knowledge
• Environmental protection, quality assurance and occupational safety
• Metalworking using drilling, turning and milling as well as various welding methods
• Basic manual skills for maintenance and assembly of technical systems
• Basics of electrical engineering, pneumatics/hydraulics and CNC manufacturing

• Qualifying lower secondary school certificate or equivalent education
• Interest in technology and physics
• Enjoyment of technical-manual work
• Communication skills, commitment, teamwork and reliability
• Basic IT skills
• Good German language skills (level B2)
