Our district heating network, with a length of more than 2,000 kilometres, is the largest in Western Europe. We supply about a third of Berlin's apartments with district heating. With the expertise of our around 2,400 employees we cover the entire value chain of district heating – from generation through network operation and expansion to sales. In parallel, we are working hard on the coal phase-out by 2030 and on climate-neutral* heat generation from 2045. To achieve this goal, we will gradually further increase the share of renewable energies and unavoidable waste heat** in our district heating system. This expansion requires a fundamental conversion of many of our sites and plants. For BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH we are looking for you from 01 September 2027 for our apprenticeship as Electronics Technician for Automation Technology at the Berlin site. Without electrical energy, almost nothing works today. Whether in power plants, companies or homes: everywhere experts are needed who know how energy can be generated, transported, controlled and converted. The automation of processes is moving into more and more areas. The heart of modern production plants is process control technology, which ensures the smooth interaction of the individual modules and systems. For the safe and continuous operation of such complex systems, electronics technicians for automation technology are responsible. Maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting characterise the field of tasks and activities. The rapid development of technology makes the job profile interesting and varied. Even during the apprenticeship, great value is therefore placed on the independent acquisition of new knowledge. Your notebook plays a major role throughout your entire apprenticeship. As an electronics technician for automation technology, you will learn to handle process control technology for production systems, such as power plant automation and visualisation. In doing so, you will apply your control engineering knowledge. You will install, maintain and optimise the control and regulation technology systems and find and eliminate possible faults. The connection between process control technology and process engineering is crucial.
