Intern Optimization Algorithms and AI Agents for Chassis Design

Our Vehicle Dynamics Development team at BMW develops software tools to support and automate chassis design. Using suitable optimization algorithms and the use of AI agents, we are making the design process increasingly automated. During your internship, you will actively contribute to this further development.

• Help develop and implement numerical optimization algorithms.
• Help define objective functions based on technical requirements.
• Help build optimization workflows, including algorithms, constraints and objective function evaluation.
• Help develop AI agents to control existing optimization workflows and create new ones.
• Help validate and interpret optimization results.
• Support close cooperation with development engineers and simulation experts.

• Studying computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering or a comparable subject.
• Good programming skills in Python or similar languages.
• Experience with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot is an advantage.
• Initial knowledge of artificial intelligence, AI agents and/or numerical optimization.
• Analytical thinking and enjoyment of a structured approach to solving problems.
• German or English skills suitable for business negotiations.
