Lead IT Expert Deployable IT Focus Command Information Systems

We are looking for responsible IT specialists who want to advance Bundeswehr IT out of conviction in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security. The Customer Solution Unit CIR & Sea is responsible for BWI projects and initiatives vis-à-vis the customer in the dimensions "Cyber & Information Space" and "Sea" of the Bundeswehr. This includes solutions in the context of deployable IT, support for operations and exercises, for deployable systems, for ensuring IT supply to the Bundeswehr abroad and also for the Navy, both for stationary and seagoing elements.

• Support in internal contractor role (sponsor) for solutions in the military IT environment at high security level
• Requirements gathering, analysis and documentation of topics in coordination with the customer, and their implementation into viable concepts and architecture
• Customer consulting on concepts and target images for implementation and operation of IT solutions in the command information systems environment
• Technical leadership of an IT architect team in a project-related environment
• Support with offers, service descriptions, calculations and back-to-back agreements
• Collaboration with service lines, Bundeswehr (users and service owners) and all BWI areas to strengthen user orientation and understanding of requirements
• New and further development of architecture concepts and reference architectures in the area of deployable IT taking into account BWI, Bundeswehr and NATO guidelines and directives
• Coordination of architecture, operations and rollout concepts with responsible parties in the Bundeswehr, internal BWI units and external service providers

• Completed degree with IT focus or equivalent training
• At least 7 years of practical experience in IT architecture methods with good planning and conceptual skills, ideally in large and complex IT projects in the area of security-relevant IT infrastructures
• Technical leadership experience desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Operational experience in operating models (e.g. ITIL), ideally in the KRITIS or Bundeswehr environment
• Very good knowledge of IT infrastructures (servers, network and communication) specifically in the context of deployable IT
• Very good knowledge of virtualization, particularly in the conception, architecture and implementation of virtualized IT infrastructures as well as sound experience with common virtualization technologies
• Basic knowledge in IT security with focus on systems in deployable IT
• Very good analytical skills and a high degree of decision-making and implementation strength
• Very high degree of goal orientation and conflict resolution skills, with pronounced resilience and stress resistance.
• Willingness to travel within and outside Germany
