System Engineer Platform Operations Automation

We are looking for responsible IT specialists who want to further develop the Bundeswehr IT out of conviction in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security. The department is responsible for the fault-free operation of IT applications and tools within BWI and for the customer Bundeswehr. The team is responsible for the setup, optimization, and operation of ITSM and automation processes. You will work with modern technologies around automation, private cloud, and Kubernetes. You will have the opportunity to actively shape their deployment and further development.

IT infrastructure operations management Installation, testing, and implementation of software and configuration changes Ensuring information security compliance Monitoring, control, and steering of system performance and system logs with development of measures for performance optimization, operational stability, and fault prevention ITIL and process-compliant handling of changes, incidents, and problems Automation of operational processes, e.g., server updates Support and consulting in IT infrastructure projects

Successfully completed IT training with very good technical knowledge and several years of professional experience At least 5 years of professional experience in the support and operation of IT infrastructure processes Good knowledge in at least one of the following areas: GitLab/GitOps approach, Kubernetes or Docker Profound knowledge of server operating systems, administration applications, and shell scripts Good IT process knowledge, preferably ITIL Foundation certified Strong customer orientation, responsible initiative, solution orientation, and teamwork Very good German and good English skills Moderate willingness to travel nationwide
