Development Engineer PLC Programming

ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions develops measurement technology. In the ZEISS X-Ray area, you work hands-on on the next generation of industrial 2D and 3D X-ray CT systems and help develop both hardware and software.

• Development, further development and optimization of PLC controls for automated and semi-automated machines with industrial X-ray CT systems, including HMI and bus systems
• Analysis, troubleshooting and review of technical documents, and contributing to safety assessments (e.g. SISTEMA, MVO, CRA) and compliance with relevant standards (e.g. CE, UL/CSA)
• Support in creating circuit and wiring diagrams, ideally using CAE systems such as EPLAN
• Commissioning of prototype systems in our plants and on site at international customers
• Close collaboration with customers, suppliers and internal interfaces as part of a global R&D team

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable field, ideally complemented by training as an electronics technician for automation technology
• Several years of relevant professional experience in automation technology, PLC machine programming and commissioning of production systems
• Confident use of IEC 61131-3 PLC programming languages and experience with bus systems, visualization systems (HMI) and preferably CAE/EPLAN
• Very good knowledge of automated machine and drive technology, robotics and related safety technology
• Very good German and English skills, willingness to travel internationally, and an independent, solution-oriented and team-oriented way of working
