Lapping Optician

As a lapping optician at ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, you process high-precision optical components and ensure their dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

• Operating and setting up conventional lapping and grinding machines
• Carrying out lapping processes to create flat surfaces
• Monitoring and controlling process parameters according to work instructions
• Checking surfaces after lapping, for example roughness, flatness, parallelism, dimensional accuracy, and documenting measurements
• Carrying out quality controls and comparing results with the target values
• Performing minor maintenance and cleaning work on the lapping machines and reporting defects
• Complying with safety and environmental regulations, especially regarding protective equipment and hazardous materials management

• Successfully completed training in a technical or craft trade, preferably as precision optician, optomechanic or goldsmith, or a comparable qualification
• Proven recent experience in one of the aforementioned fields, alternatively relevant professional experience in lapping
• Basic knowledge of using measuring tools and carrying out measuring procedures
• Understanding of grinding and lapping processes and cleaning methods
• Precise way of working, fine motor skills and an eye for surface quality
• Teamwork, sense of responsibility and a structured way of working
• Experience with SAP or a comparable booking system is an advantage
• Willingness to work in a 3-shift system and on weekends
• Fluent German in speech and writing
