Acetate production operations assistant

Cerdia is seeking an acetate production operations assistant in Freiburg to start as soon as possible. The chemical company produces cellulose acetate flakes and tow.

• Support plant management in daily operations and cover absences, including preparing operations meetings, management reviews, production reports, statistics and presentations
• Plan, control and continuously improve production, using and developing shop floor management to meet production targets
• Plan and ensure efficient startup and shutdown processes and safe preparation of equipment during plant and production shutdowns
• Monitor the technical condition of equipment and continuously improve its availability by analysing the OEE dashboard
• Keep operating documents current and standardised, carry out and coordinate explosion protection and safety analyses, and implement the required measures
• Plan and carry out plant trials and special production runs, prepare and support project applications, and coordinate and technically review equipment changes
• Plan production and raw material use with the relevant departments, coordinate production planning across departments, and take part in operations meetings, safety inspections, audits and project groups
• Lead, develop and motivate a team of four employees, with responsibility for their technical work and line management

• Completed engineering degree, preferably in process engineering, chemical engineering, chemical technology or mechanical engineering with a focus on process engineering, or a comparable qualification
• Several years of experience (around 3 to 5 years) operating, monitoring and controlling process production plants, ideally in an environment subject to major accident regulations
• Experience handling hazardous substances
• Initial management experience is an advantage
• Strong awareness of safety and quality

• Teamwork and leadership skills
• Very good written and spoken German and English
