Maintenance Engineer for Mechanics in the DSE Plant

At Covestro in Dormagen, as an expert in mechanical maintenance in the DSE plant (specialty chemical plants producing high-performance polymers), you take responsibility for an entire area. Starting salary between €89,400/year and €108,500/year plus a variable component for full-time.

• Ensure plant safety for a complex area of responsibility
• Responsibility for all mechanical maintenance activities with central special tasks
• Lead plant shutdowns (categories C and D)
• Manage controlling and forecasting for maintenance measures and projects and initiate corrective actions
• Defect elimination process: identify weak points, analyze root causes, derive and implement measures
• Independently lead medium-complexity projects and coordinate internal aspects of externally led projects
• Contribute to technical expertise and asset strategy, including criticality analyses, FMEAs and asset documentation in SAP PM and APM
• Global exchange of experience and collaboration with global technology centers, research, application technology and the quality lab

• Completed university degree (Bachelor or Master) in chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering or similar, or alternatively a technician qualification with many years of relevant experience
• Many years of experience in engineering, maintenance and/or production, ideally including leading projects and turnarounds
• Deep knowledge of technical best practices, standards and maintenance processes; SAP PM and APM an advantage
• Analytical, strategic and conceptual thinking
• Several years of experience in technical leadership and project management, mentoring skills and intercultural competence
• Strong cost awareness and assertiveness
• Very good German and English, spoken and written
