Trainee Lawyer, Legal & Compliance

Legal practice or elective placement in Covestro's Legal and Compliance department in Leverkusen. Work on business law and regulatory matters with direct involvement in the daily work of an international company.

• Advise different business departments on business law and regulatory matters
• Work on distribution law, commercial and company law, competition law, general civil law, data protection law, environmental law, employment law and compliance
• Review, draft and revise contracts
• Prepare research, legal opinions and presentations
• Prepare for and attend meetings

• Passed the first German state examination in law with above average results, ideally with a grade of at least vollbefriedigend
• Interest in business relationships and corporate decision making
• Precise legal work while keeping practical solutions in mind
• Confident use of MS Office, legal databases and digital research tools
• Very good spoken and written German and English
• Team spirit, initiative and a structured, independent approach to work
• Knowledge of AI tools, for example for legal research, document analysis or contract review, and routine use of them in daily work
