Specialist Platform Engineering PaaS

The Cloud Data Center supports product strategies with an efficient, self-service-oriented IT service offering in the DATEV data center. You are part of a committed team that runs a modern cloud data center for DATEV and shapes PaaS (and CaaS) platforms around a self-developed developer platform.

• You build and run our Platform-as-a-Service offering (partly based on Kubernetes) with integrated security and governance controls and lifecycle management components (backup, restore and disaster recovery), including integration into the DATEV ecosystem and continuous development.
• You evaluate and integrate new technologies in coordination with relevant stakeholders (e.g. architecture, security, technology management).
• You implement automation, provisioning and scaling processes, from infrastructure, configuration and policy as code to GitOps.
• You develop APIs, CLI tools and service catalogs that let development teams use the platform easily and securely on their own.
• You take on last-level support, analyze technical faults as well as configuration and permission problems, work closely with the platform's stakeholders, advise them on architecture and usage concepts and guide them through successful onboarding.

• You have a completed degree in computer science with several years of work experience, or comparable vocational training with several years of work experience.
• You have several years of experience in platform engineering, or in building and running PaaS platforms including security and compliance and their integration into operations.
• You enjoy working with modern cloud technologies and bring solid experience in administering and integrating platforms such as Kubernetes and Cloud Foundry.
• You bring practical experience in automation and Everything as Code (e.g. IaC, GitOps).
• You work in a structured way, think in terms of solutions and can explain complex technical topics clearly.
• Knowledge of developing cloud-native applications (e.g. Java Spring Boot, GO) is a plus.
