Building Services Engineer as an Expert Inspector for Ventilation, Smoke Extraction and Fire Suppression Systems

Inspect safety systems in buildings and industrial facilities within DEKRA's Electrical and Building Services division. The advertised location is Dortmund; applicants may also state a preference for another of its more than 70 branches. A comprehensive training programme is available to applicants who are not yet recognised as expert inspectors under building law.

• Independently inspect safety systems in buildings and industrial facilities, including ventilation, smoke extraction, pressure ventilation, carbon monoxide warning and fire suppression systems.
• Carry out quality checks during construction and prepare expert reports, including measurements.
• Work independently or with colleagues in your region, supported by qualified back-office staff.
• Support customers in ensuring compliance with official requirements and legal regulations.
• Use your network to expand the customer base and grow the business.

• University degree in building services engineering, energy engineering, building engineering, mechanical engineering or a comparable field
• Professional experience in planning, constructing and operating building services systems
• Recognition as an expert inspector or knowledge of building law and the systems to be inspected, plus experience preparing expert reports, is desirable
• Strong writing skills to prepare clear, precise reports and expert assessments
• Business-fluent spoken and written German required
• An independent, reliable and flexible approach to work
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Category B driving licence and willingness to carry out fieldwork around your home area
